The Community Theatre
Baker County Community Theatre has been a part of the community since the 1970s. It was formed with a grant from the Florida Humanities Council and its first director, Dr. Lee Beger opened with The Fantastiks in 1974. Since there was no theatre in the county at the time, The Fantastiks was performed to sell out crowds at the Westside Elementary cafeteria. They followed that success with Lil' Abner in 1975 and Guys and Dolls in 1978, current BCHS and BCCT director Bob Gerard's first production in Baker County. The Community Theatre then went on hiatus until the 90s with productions of The Crucible and A Lion in Winter reopening the theatre group. BCCT remains active today.
